Dan Roberts stretchered off as Windsor finish with 9 in Hellenic League defeat

Round up from the Hellenic League action on Monday and Tuesday night

A night of frustration for Windsor in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division who lost 3-1 at Holmer Green and had two players sent off.

The other bit of bad news for Mick Woodham’s side was seeing attacker Dan Roberts stretchered off 16 minutes after opening the scoring at Watchet Lane.

Holmer levelled as play resumed and as well as conceding two further goals, Windsor’s night got worse when Victor Ocansey was sent off in first half injury time and Paul Coyne was sent off on the 65th minute – both for second bookable offences.

Ascot United were in action at Abingdon United with the Yellamen winning 4-2 on the road- a win that sends them top of the Hellenic Premier Division. Jamie Tompkins side led 2-0 at the break through a Dan Price free kick and a Harry Laflin penalty.

Laflin got his second after the break and there was a rare goal for George Lock before a late fight back from the home side.

The other Hellenic Premier fixture involving a Berks side saw Virginia Water win 2-0 at home to Royal Wootton Bassett Town – Waters goals came from Josh Hill and Adam McNamara.

On Monday night Eddie Lee scored his second goal in two games for Binfield, adding to his FA Cup opener on Saturday as the Moles defeated Brackley Town Saints 3-1 at Hill Farm Lane.

Binfield captain James Knight got the opener with a rare goal, matching his 2017/18 season total of one on 11 minutes while Sean Moore scored on 21 minutes and Lee making it 3-0 three minutes later. The visitors scored a late consolation but Binfield made it three wins from six in the Hellenic Premier.
