Six Bracknell Sunday League sides through in County Cup

Tony Hardy rounds up all the weekends Sunday League action

Congratulations to Panthers, Raglan and Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW who all won today in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup and progress to the second round draw, along with FC Fernhill, Finchampstead Athletic and Silver Birch who were all awarded byes in the 1 round.

In todays all Premier Division tie Raglan came from behind to beat WAB by 3-1 after the teams were locked 1-1 at half-time. Panthers beat The Sportsman 3-1 whilst Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW beat Tilehurst YM by the same scoreline. The 2 round ties are scheduled for Sunday 7 October.

Both Berks County and Loveman United maintained their winning starts to the season in Division 1. Berks County beat Panthers Reserves 8-2 and occupy top spot on goal difference over Loveman, who beat Woodley United 5-0. Goal-scorers for Loveman were Les Sykes (2), Lee Blackman (2) and Ed Jackson-Sankey. Elsewhere, Bracknell Athletic secured their first win of the campaign 4-2 against Finchampstead Athletic Reserves.

In Division 2 Ashridge Park Royals and Silver Birch shared the points after their game finished an entertaining 4-4 draw. Woodley Saints and Winnersh Rangers occupy the top two spots after their head-to-head finished 2-2. Elsewhere, Golden Farmer Rangers Reserves secured their first win of the season with a 2-1 win away to Moore Close Manor whilst 3M beat Bracknell Corinthians 6-2.

Early pace-setters in Division 3 are Bearwood Wanderers who made it 2 wins out of 2 by beating Finchampstead Athletic A by 3-0. Bracknell Saint-Germain and Winnersh Town battled out a 1-1 draw and occupy 2 and 3 positions in the early season table on 4 points. Elsewhere, Braybrooke Aathletic got their season off the mark with a 2-1 away win against Hope & Anchor.

In Division 4 both AFC Crowthorne Old Boys and Bracknell Athletic Reserves won their second wins in consecutive weeks, Crowthorne surprising a strong Silver Birch Old Boys team by 4-2 whilst Bracknell Athletic Reserves defeated Bracknell Cavaliers Reserves by 3-1. The other game in the division finished 6-1 to FC Harmanswater over Bracknell Titans.
