WAB move further clear in Bracknell Sunday League Division 1, Twigg and Raglan through in County Cup

William Twigg Vets edged the all-Bracknell Sunday League Premier Division tie in the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup with a 1-0 victory over Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW and in doing so progress to the quarter final stage of the competition where they will travel to Aylesbury Flooring in 3 week’s time (4th February). Elsewhere Raglan secured their place in the last 8 with a 2-1 victory away to a strong Datchet Village. That result sets up a tasty looking all-Bracknell Division 1 tie against Loveman United, to be played Sunday 18th February).

FC Meta and Crowthorne Inn shared the spoils in the Premier Divison after the game finished 1-1. The result means that Inn stretch their lead at the top to 8 points over William Twigg whilst the point keeps Meta in contention. The other game in the Division finished in a 3-2 win for Morale Madrid against Golden Farmer Rangers.

Top team WAB edged the big game in Division 1 with a narrow 1-0 win away to second placed Loveman United. The win stretches WAB’s lead at the top to a massive 13 points whilst Loveman still have 4 games in hand over WAB. Third placed AFC Crowthorne themselves lost ground dropping points after a 2-2 draw with Sandhurst FFC. Big winners in the Division were Finchampstead Athletic Reserves who thumped Berks All Stars 7-0.

Warfield United remain in second place, behind Woodley United, in Division 2 after they could only manage a 2-2 draw away to AFC Crowthorne Reserves. Woodley remain one point clear at the top though Warfield have a game in hand. The two meet next week at Woodley. Two teams registered 7 goals in their games in the Division as Bracknell Athletic beat Braybrooke Athletic 7-2 whilst Newbold College beat Ashridge Park Royals 7-4.

Big winners in Division 3 were Bracknell Corinthians by 13-1 against bottom team Berkshire United. In the game between the top two Woodley Saints romped to a 5-1 victory away at WAB Reserves. Those results mean that Saints remain top by 2 points over Bracknell Corinthians, who have a game in hand. WAB Reserves slip to 3rd.

The top 3 in Division 4 all drew. The top versus 2nd clash between Silver Birch A and Finchampstead Athletic A finished 2-2 and the same result ensued in the game between FC Harmanswater and 3rd placed Bracknell Royals. Birch remain top by one point over Finch. Bracknell Titans caused the shock of the day defeating early-season pacesetters Crownwood Dukes 6-3.
