Binfield Reserves kicked off 2018 with a resounding 9-2 home win over Tonbridge Angels in the Suburban Football League Premier Division on Saturday.
The Moles are third in the division and host Leatherhead in the third round of the Mike Bidmead League Cup on Saturday but had a hat trick from Luke Hayden, a brace from Clive Akem-Che and goals from Eddie Lee, Will Corbishley, Will Shaw and Peter Shay to thank for their pulsating start to the season.
Shay scored the final goal of the afternoon as the Moles ran riot, somewhat backing up manager Ellis Woods decision not to field ‘new’ signing Nick White.
It’s a slow start to the calendar year in the league, the Moles are in action along with Ascot United on Saturday but Bracknell Town will wait until Thursday night before they travel to Harefield United.
