A late goal from new Flackwell Heath signing Joel Jacobs gave the visitors and Hellenic Premier Division leaders a point in a 1-1 draw with second placed Bracknell Town on Saturday afternoon at Larges Lane.
Both sides went in at the break level at 0-0, with Bracknell fielding their own new signing in full-back Diak John for his full debut.
It was George Short though who almost took the headlines for Bracknell in the second half. On 69 minutes he met TJ Bohane’s lofted ball in to the six yard box and headed a home to give Mark Tallentire’s side what looked to be a match winning lead.

Jacobs had other ideas though, levelling things up in front of a 350 strong crowd at the newly refurbished Larges Lane with three minutes to go from a well struck free kick on the edge of the box.
There was still time for some late drama in injury time though, Heathens Mitchel Woodward throwing himself in front of a goal bound shot that would have sent Bracknell back to the top of the table.
How things stand
The draw drops Bracknell down to third following Thame United’s 3-0 win at Highmoor-IBIS – who’s twitter feed is worth a read this afternoon – and the Oxon side are now top ahead of Flackwell.
The up side for Bracknell is that they have a game in hand on Thame and three on Flackwell – the next being the not at all daunting trip to Binfield on Monday night.
