Pre season: Charlton and Etienne on the mark for Binfield

Just the one local friendly last night and it was the first half performance that gave Binfield a 2-0 win at Alton Town.

New signing James Charlton got his name on the score sheet while the other goalscorer was a player that so impressed us in the Reading Senior Cup final last season – Jean-Claude Etienne.

The youngster was a substitute in that game but his strength and running made a real impression – it was a shame he was on the losing side that evening at Madejski Stadium.

Binfield’s website also has former Wokingham & Emmbrook forward Luke Scope turning out for the Moles and he was at the heart of Etienne’s goal.

The second half saw wholesale changes which effectively ended the game but despite an improvement for the home side, the scored finished with the Moles in charge.
