Ascot 1 Binfield 0: Lee Boon wins it late for Yellamen

Our first attempt at a prediction was horribly wrong but with two 20 goal forwards on display we thought this one had goals in it.

As it was, it took Lee Boon in the final five minutes of the game to settle this one as Ascot United beat local rivals Binfield 1-0 at Ascot Racecourse despite good chances for the visitors Liam Ferdinand (pictured).

Having already secured a fourth place spot in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League this season, Ascot proved why they have the joint second meanest defence in the league and earning a little bit of revenge for the 4-0 defeat the Moles inflicted on them at the end of March.

Binfield can still finish fifth but you feel Roger Herridge’s side will need to win both of their final games to do that, and they have the carrot of ending Wokingham & Emmbrook’s five year reign in the Reading Senior Cup on Monday.

Binfield travel to Ardley United on Thursday while Ascot have the Floodlit Cup final to come.
