Brimscombe 5 Binfield 1: Moles suffer rare setback in Gloucestershire

Binfield face a long ride home after a rare defeat in Gloucestershire this afternoon as their bid for a fifth placed finish in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League took a hit at Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Manager Roger Herridge brought in Alex Walton and Jack Broome – both available again after a spell on the sidelines and kept faith with youngster Jean-Claude Etienne up front.

The Moles – who have a great record in the West of England county this season were a goal down at the break but worse was to come as the home side scored three more times before Danny Horscroft hit a consolation with two minutes of normal time remaing.

That was all it proved to be though as Brimscombe struck again before the final whistle.

Binfield can console themselves with the news that their reserve side are through the the Ascot & Fielden Cup Final after beating Iver Heath at Hill Farm Lane this afternoon.
