With the 2025/26 league constitutions published for Tiers’ 1-6, Caversham United were a noticeable omission in the list of Berkshire squads competing in the Southern Region Women’s Football League.

The club have confirmed that they have requested voluntary relegation to the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League, a league they were were promoted from only three seasons ago.

The club account verified, “This news is actually a real positive for us! Our squad now is very different to when we entered Tier 6, and we’ve had a challenging couple of seasons. We requested to drop to Tier 7 to allow us to rebuild the core of our squad and to challenge this season and springboard!”
