Spreadsheets checked, results filled in and PPG calculated. The official Football in Berkshire Women’s Team of the Month for October 2024 is..

Wait a minute.. we’ll build the suspense a little more.

In September, Taplow United were third in the list for Team of the Month on Goal Difference having won all three matches and remain on a winning run in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division Three South.

In October, Taplow won all three again and it could have been four had their County Cup tie with Wing Raiders Ladies not been awarded to the club as a walkover. However the maximum points and plus 14 goal difference is enough for United to be crowned Women’s Team of the Month.

Coming in second are Southern Region Women’s League (SRWFL) Premier Division Ascot United, and the Yella’s Reserve side are third having all one three out of three in October.

Team of the Month rules

  • A team’s performance is measured by points per game (PPG). The Team of the Month calculation includes league AND cup games.
  • All matches from the first of the month to the last day of the month are included.
  • Teams must have played a reasonable number of games in any given month relative to other teams to qualify for the monthly table. In August this was deemed as more than two.
  • If teams are tied on PPG, the following criteria is applied: The team in the PPG tie that has played the most games, followed by Goal Difference (GD) if that is also tied.
  • A monthly table will run concurrently alongside an overall season table.

Top of the goalscoring charts for Berkshire’s FA Women’s National League and SRWFL sides was Woodley United’s Sarah Lawrence with six strikes in October for the Kestrels.

Coming in joint-second with four goals each are Ascot United’s Sarah Jones and Beth Lloyd who enjoyed another fruitful month in front of goal.

Please note: The women’s top scorer chart is based on goals in league and cup matches. Additional note: We will be running a separate Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Monthly Top Scorer, it is just taking a little longer to pull together.
