Every Monday and Thursday sees the latest instalment of the FiB A to Z, where the spotlight is shone on one of the talented women’s teams from across the county. 

So, who have we seen so far? Ascot United Ladies First Team and Reserves‬, ‪Caversham AFC Ladies‬, Caversham AFC Women, ‪Eversley & California Ladies, ‪Holyport Ladies, ‪Kingsclere Ladies, ‪Maidenhead United Women‬ and Mortimer Ladies. 

Here’s 5 fascinating facts from the team profiles.

  1. Ascot United’s most internationally capped player is goalkeeper Jo Fletcher with 9 appearances for England. Jo made 1 appearance for Ascot. 
  1. Caversham AFC Ladies striker Tiff Newland has scored a sensational 68 goals for the team in the last two seasons. 
  1. After finishing 5-5 after 90 minutes, a penalty shootout saw Holyport Ladies nab a spot in the final of the TVCWFL Plate 19/20 against division rivals Milton United Ladies. Full time saw the ladies win 4-2.
  1. Maidenhead United Women won SRWFL Division 1 at the first attempt, remaining unbeaten in league fixtures during the 2008/09 season and dropping just four points.
  1. Beth Millican and Louise Delaney of Mortimer Ladies, played for Point Park University in Pittburgh, and were part of the team who won the conference for the first time!
