Bracknell Sunday League confirms suspension of competition

The league have released a statement

Following the news that the Football Association had suspended grassroots football in England, the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League released a statement to Football in Berkshire on its competition.

“Setting personal views and opinions aside, and we’d all like to see football continue at our level as it provides all involved with much needed social interaction, we can only take on board the advice that is given by the football authorities that, after all, flows from Government advice.

“We have therefore, reluctantly, taken the decision to follow this guidance by suspending League competition until further notice. Our clubs will, naturally, want to know how the season is going to be concluded. We can only advise on this once we receive further guidance.

“Our first concern when making this decision is for the safety and well-being of all involved with local football, that is our players, match officials and spectators alike.”
