Bracknell Sunday League play special role in First World War Remembrance Day

Two Sunday League teams will take part in a special re-enactment match at South Hill Park

This year marks 100 years since the end of WWI and as part of a festival taking place at South Hill Park on Sunday 11th November two Bracknell Town & District Sunday League teams will play in a game that will form part of what should prove to be an excellent day of celebration.

The two teams involved are Hope & Anchor and Finchampstead Athletic A, both of Division 3, who will play in period kit. The match officials will wear officer’s uniforms, that was the norm at that time.

The pitch will be roped off, the goals will be marked with posts and flags and a replica laced up leather ball will be used for the game.

Entry to the event on Sunday 11th November is free. It opens at 1pm and the football match kicks-off at 2pm. More details about the event ‘Battle’s Over – 100 Years Of Remembrance’ can be found here on the South Hill Park website.
