Local draw for the 2017/18 FA Cup Preliminary Round

Four of our East Berkshire clubs remain in contention after the first round of fixtures on Saturday

Four of our local sides remain in the FA Cup so we thought we’d have a quick look at how that leaves the Preliminary Round draw.

By virtue of being drawn at home in the Extra Preliminary Round Bracknell Town, Binfield and Highmoor-IBIS are all at home while Ascot face a trip even further south when they head to Hamworthy United – 4-1 winners over Bemerton Heath Harlequins – which is a short hop from Poole Harbour on the Dorset close.

Bracknell Town face higher opposition when they renew acquaintances with Evo Stik Southern League side Winchester City while Highmoor IBIS have similarly higher opposition in the form of North Leigh.

Binfield’s impressive win over Chichester City has handed them a tie at home to Wessex Premier Division side Horndean after the Deans defeated Western League Premier side Melksham Town.

Here’s the full local draw:

  • Bracknell Town v Winchester City
  • Binfield v Horndean
  • Hamworthy United v Ascot United
  • Highmoor Ibis v North Leigh

The absolute full and comprehensive draw for the Preliminary Round can be found here.
