A double from Eddie Lee and a third from Michael Allen sealed a long expected Allied Counties Youth League South Division title for Binfield Youth Team on Monday night.

The Moles fought back from 1-0 down at Westfield to draw 3-3 and earn the point that was enough to earn the young Moles the title.

The management team of John Polston, Jim Craske and Mark Poole sent us this statement following the win: “We’ve always been encouraging our boys to play attacking, positive football from our goalkeeper all the way to our front men. The team performance not just from last night but the whole year has been terrific and it shows how much potential Binfield’s youth players have. Here’s to a great season and a fantastic night last night. Well done everyone.”

Binfield Reserve team defender Matt Davis has also been in touch saying: “Just wanted to say a massive congratulations to the Binfield Allied team on winning the league.

“They are the first ever Binfield Allied side to win the league since we started the side when I was captain around 2002/03!

“It is a privilege to train and play with them in the development side as they are a real talented group of lads. I think we have had 12 of them from the youth team play for the Res/Dev side this season with all of them more than capable making the step up.”
