Binfield Reserves goalkeeper Liam Vaughan saved two of four penalties in Saturday’s Suburban Football League Premier Division tie at home to Maidenhead United.
The key thing here.. it wasn’t a penalty shoot out.
Vaughan explained on his instagram page that ‘Maidenhead had 4 penalties in about 15 minutes, happy with saving 2 but should have saved 3!’
The Moles won the match 4-3 at Hill Farm Lane thanks to doubles from Mo Davies and Liam Whyte but the win in a match full of incident was all the more remarkable as Ellis Woods side did it with 10-men after Matt Davies was sent off.
