Bracknell Sunday League sides start County Cup campaigns

Tony Hardy previews the weekends Sunday League action

Many of our teams start this seasons Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup campaign this weekend. Raglan, last season’s County Junior Cup winners, will look to go one better in the higher ranked competition but face a tough challenge in the one all-Bracknell tie against WAB. Crowthorne Inn, Athletico Forest, FC Meta, Morale Madrid, Crowthorne FC, Panthers, Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW and Golden Farmer Rangers all play and FiB wish all our teams success in this weekend’s 1st round ties.

Three teams in Division 1 will look to emulate wins in last weekend’s openers. Two of those teams, Panthers Reserves and Berks County, go head to head in what should prove to be an entertaining fixture. The other, Loveman United, take on promoted Woodley United in another interesting looking game. The other two fixtures to be played sees four teams looking to register their first win of the season with Bracknell Athletic playing Finchampstead Athletic Reserves and AFC Crowthorne Reserves (who opened last week with a draw) taking on Winkfield.

Pick of this weekend’s Division 2 fixtures sees Wiinersh Rangers host last season’s division 3 champions Woodley Saints (both with wins to their names last weekend) whilst Ashridge Park host Silver Birch.

A full schedule of fixtures in Divisions 3 & 4 sees a strong looking Bearwood Wanderers, League Junior Cup winners of last seasons and many peoples favourites to challenge for the title, take on promoted Finchampstead Athletic A in 3. In the same Division, old foes of last season Silver Birch A and Bracknell Royals square up again. In Division 4 a strong looking Silver Birch Vets team open their campaign as they travel to new “boys” AFC Crowthorne OB, winners last time out.
