Friday Night Football and the Bracknell Sunday League showcase

Friday night football is back at Bracknell Town’s Larges Lane, but this time it’s the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League’s showpiece final – the Senior League Cup.

Premier Division Morale Madrid play Division 1 Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW with kick off at 7.45pm.

Morale finished third in the Premier this season and go in to the final as firm favourites – but expect Wokingham to put up a fight after their slightly unorthodox route to the final and a fourth placed finish in Division 1.

Madrid won four games on the route to Larges Lane but Wokingham had a first round bye and actually lost their semi-final against AFC Crowthorne – but are in the final after their opponents were revealed to have fielded an ineligible player.

Morale Madrid – The Premier Division side have a number of players with step 5 experience – but man to watch will be one familiar to Bracknell Town supporters in Shane Cooper-Clark.

The Thatcham Town striker scored 29 goals in the Hellenic Premier Division this season and will be right at home at Larges Lane.

Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW – If Wokingham are to spring a surprise then they’ll need to get 14 goal Jonny Clifford in to the game but also have goals in Alex O’Brien and Sam Randle.

What to expect

The Sunday League Cup Finals are almost always well supported and with it being the first Sunday Final at the new Larges Lane there’s almost certainly going to be extra interest from those who haven’t yet had a chance to visit.

The level of football on show will almost certainly be higher than you’d expect with a number of players on both sides playing at step five in Saturday football.

At the very least, it’s going to be one of the final games locally this term so worth heading down to catch the last gasps of the football season.
