The news of Jamie Tompkins departure from Ascot United by ‘mutual consent’ has prompted a number of his players to confirm their own exits from the Racecourse Ground.
Among the names, the teams captain Harry Grant confirmed in a social media post that he was headed to pastures new: “With that news I’m out too…I’ve had the best three seasons of my football life playing under JT, Deano, Quelchy and co and I’ll be forever grateful to them for the opportunities they’ve given me and the experiences we’ve shared. Such a shame with how it’s ended. Onto the next chapter…”

Experienced defender Joe Gater will also depart saying: “Wouldn’t feel right continuing without this management team! Look forward to seeing what’s next!”
Berkshire Football Awards nominated goalkeeper Mark Scott is departing: “Following today’s news I would like to thank everyone at Ascot United. It’s be a pleasure to play for the club and loved every second working with Jamie Tompkins, Dan Greenwood, Quelchy and of course Alex Sykes. Looking forward to what next season brings, where ever I end up.
Tompkins spent seven years in charge of the Yellas, winning the Hellenic League Cup, the Combined Counties League Premier Division title and most memorably of all, the FA Vase at Wembley Stadium.
