Bracknell Town have confirmed the return of Bobby Wilkinson to Bottom Meadow.
In the end it was a ‘short and sweet’ social media post that confirmed the Robins had reappointed Bobby Wilkinson shortly after it was revealed Kayne Steinborn-Busse had taken control of the club for a second time.
“Unfinished business” was the post with the promise of more news to come.
Ultimately the return of Wilkinson – one of the club’s most successful modern day managers – has been rumoured at various points the Bracknell hot seat has been empty over the last few seasons since he departed in 2022, and has been taken positively by the club’s supporters.
There will certainly be a number of players the new manager is familiar with at the club. Seb Bowerman, Michael Eacott, Jordan Esprit and Max Herbert all remain while Dan Roberts played for Wilkinson at Weymouth.
There has been no comment from the club on the departure of former player Jon Underwood outside the statement released by the departing chairman Andy Hunt on Tuesday.
While Bracknell are off the pace in the race for the Southern League play-offs, Underwood had lead the side to the Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup Final where they will play Flackwell Heath on Tuesday 8th April.
