Wallingford Town boss Glenn Goudie has moved quickly to snap up former Binfield coach Rob Wytchard for the 2020/21 season.

Wytchard had been coach at Hill Farm Lane under Roger Herridge for five seasons but departed when the Moles boss left his position in April – the Moles have since appointed Geoff Warner to work with new manager Jamie McClurg and Carl Withers.

Quoted in an announcement on the Wallingford Town website, Goudie said: “I have kept in touch with Rob since we worked at Binfield together and when I heard he was available, we got busy working to attract him to join the management team.”

In Wytchard, Goudie – who saw previous coach Kieran Jennings depart in April after two seasons at Hithercroft, has acquired and immensely experienced coach with time at Thatcham Town, Reading Town and Abingdon United under his belt as well as an Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division winners medal with Wantage Town from the 2013/14 season.

Chairman Simon Cowlard said: “Everyone at Wallingford Town is delighted with the appointment Glenn has made to his coaching team. Rob is a top coach with bags of experience and knowledge, this will be valuable to us at Wallingford and we look forward to seeing him on the training ground and in our dugout for the 2020/21 season.”
