Beautifully written and immensely insightful truths about the war-time rise of women’s football and the trials and tribulations that followed.

A stats geek like myself’s dream book. Dates, line-ups, scores, facts and figures. Every single Women’s FA Cup final details since the first one back in 1971 with reports, photos foreword’s and so much more about each and every game. The book is full to brim with words from women throughout the cup’s history.
In A League of their Own! The Dick, Kerr Ladies 1917-1965 – Gail J Newsham
A brilliantly detailed and touching look at the the pioneers that are The Dick, Kerr Ladies, they catapulted women’s football into the spotlight when they began playing during the First World War and remain at the forefront of the discussion around women’s football and it’s development to this day. Gail Newsham had an incredible connection with so many of the players and you can tell just that as she takes you through the insightful journey of the team. It’s chocked full of great graphics too.
