We’re not going to pretend to be entirely knowledgeable on betting and how odds work. But Bracknell Town and Windsor’s involvement in the FA Vase Second Round at the weekend gives us an opportunity to see what the outside world thinks about our clubs chances.

The only site giving odds for the FA Vase is online betting site Bet Victor – who’s approach it’s fair to say isn’t exactly committed.

There’s very little to argue with North East sides being top of the list in terms of ‘favourites’ – Morpeth Town at 3/1 won the competition in 2016 while West Auckland Town have been beaten finalists twice this decade.

However Windsor don’t even make the list while Binfield – who exited in the Second Qualifying Round do and you can still place a bet on Bracknell Town’s original opponents Cray Valley (66/1) who have since been removed and replaced.

What’s interesting in terms of the second round proper on Saturday is that some of the favourites face each other – Marske host Shildon while Sunderland Ryehope welcome City of Liverpool meaning IF Bracknell (joint 8th favourites overall and 1/6 to beat Cricklewood Wanderers on Saturday) and Windsor pass their tests on Saturday – both sides odds should shorten (well Windsor should get some odds!)

Here’s the full odds from the Bet Victor website (correct at the time of publication):
