#WindsorMonth is here and as part of our celebration of all things football in the town, we’re asking a couple of big questions.
We’re looking at the great players produced by the town – and my oh my there have been a few – we’re looking at the big moments, the celebrations, the iconic kits and grounds from over 100 years of football in the backyard of King’s and Queen’s.
It’s simple really, who is the best footballer to come out of Windsor and what made them so good? Whether it’s an ex-Windsor & Eton star or a Thames Valley Sunday League hero, we’d love to have your thoughts – click here to leave your comment or scroll to the bottom of the article.

I have said it many a time on social media but Ryan Parson’s is my favourite player ever. Class on the pitch and a gentleman off the pitch.
The best player to have played for Windsor & Eton, take your pick between Kevin Mitchell & Chris Yates. Mitch was the best keeper in non-league football for many years, and Yatesy what a player. Geoff Chapple with all his successes in management at Woking and Kingstonian lists him in the top 3 players he’s managed. There’s a reason Harry Redknapp was so desperate to sign up!
In terms of the ever Windsor born and bred, that’s an easy one, Peter Osgood. Why WEFC didn’t sign him up when he so desperately wanted to play for I’ll never know. Weeks later he signed for Chelsea and the rest was history!!
