You’ll all be aware by now that Bracknell Town are back at step four in the English Football Pyramid and more importantly back in the Bostik Isthmian League.
To celebrate, the Football in Bracknell team got together and came up with 19 reasons why the new season is going to be brilliant. Spoiler alert, it’s 19 new clubs and grounds to visit.
We’ve had a look at the clubs *in depth* and come up with a few things to be excited about for each one along with any knowledge we’ve picked up on the way.
Ashford Town (Middlesex)
Planes from Heathrow so low you can touch them. Just about. Also previously played in a pretty unique tangerine and white striped kit. Just don’t walk to the ground from the station, it’s further than it looks.

Bedfont Sports
Also right by Heathrow airport and with an artificial surface. Plan your holidays around the away fixtures at Ashford and Bedfont and chances are you can catch the game and hop on the plane afterwards.
Chalfont St Peter
It’s an indication of how far the club has come that it wasn’t that long ago they were losing 4-1 against Chalfont Wasps in Hellenic Division One East. At least the club are now in the same division as the best club in Chalfont.
Cheshunt
Takes us right back. Twas the summer of ’94 and the Robins had just won the old Isthmian League Third Division after a big win at Horsham. They beat Cheshunt to the title by two points that year.
Chipstead
It’s close to Croydon but not Croydon which is a relief.
Egham Town
Best to go by train, it’s a bit of a walk from the station but another proper old ground. Hopefully the early 2000s rivalry can be revived.
Fleet Town
They were once managed by Andy Sinton. Memory says we played and lost there a lot in the 2000s but there’s no record of it. It’s close by at least.
Hanwell Town
If you see TC’s shoes from the early 2000s give us a shout.
Hayes & Yeading United
Until 2016 these guys were in the National League. It’s been a bit of a fall from grace but they finished third in the Southern League Division 1 East last season.

Hertford Town
On our visit last season, they had a range of approx 16 Belgian beers to try. A proper old football ground with some great pubs around it. Worth the effort.
Marlow
We never ever won here. Despite playing each other five times a season. It’s about time.
Molesey
It’s up to you whether you pop in to Hampton Court Palace before or after the game.
Northwood
In these parts an Estate Agents, in football terms south of Watford.
South Park
*snigger*
Tooting & Mitcham United
For the memories..

Waltham Abbey
Tidy looking ground with the din of the M25 in the background (well it looks like it on a map).
Ware
Where? Have fun with that joke. It gets old.
Westfield
Don’t mistakenly invite your significant other along thinking you can leave them at the shopping centre.
Uxbridge
A decent ground for a club that was always a bit of a thorn in Bracknell’s side. Won a penalty shoot out there once, absolute scenes.
