2018/19 Southern Region Women’s League constitutions confirmed

Woodley United, Ascot United, Wokingham & Emmbrook and Sandhurst Town know who they will play in the SRWFL next season

The constitution for the 2018/19 Southern Region Women’s Football League has been confirmed at the leagues recent AGM.

The SRWFL will once again run with three divisions, a Premier of 10 teams and two Division 1’s split by North and South with seven teams each. The AGM confirmed Woodley United’s elevation to the Premier where they will once again face Ascot United and also face trips to Bournemouth, Milton Keynes and Winchester.

Wokingham & Emmbrook remain in Division 1 North with Wargrave and the two clubs are joined by Sandhurst Town who have moved up two divisions from the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

Southern Region Women’s League Premier Division

  • AFC Bournemouth
  • Ascot United
  • Barton Rovers
  • Milton Keynes City
  • New Milton Town
  • Newbury Ladies
  • Oxford City
  • Warsash Wasps
  • Winchester City Flyers
  • Woodley United

Southern Region Women’s League First Division North

Southern Region Women’s League First Division South

  • Alton
  • Eastleigh
  • Moneyfields
  • Shanklin
  • Southampton FC (Women’s)
  • Southampton Women’s FC Reserves
  • Winchester City Flyers Reserves

According to notes from the AGM, Basingstoke Town will play in Division 1 North as they are the team furthest north in the Hampshire County and were needed to move to even up numbers. In addition Chesham United were promoted to the FA WPL as Champions, Shanklin took voluntary relegation from Premier Division and Team Solent have returned to their County league.
