Sandhurst Town have confirmed the signature of the Hellenic League Division 1 East’s 2016/17 joint top scorer Charlie Oakley.
The Fizzers have started their campaign with a win and a defeat and the addition of Oakley – who joins his brothers Harry (Fizzers captain) and Matt (youth team) – will only add goals to what looks a very solid squad at Bottom Meadow.
Oakley scored 23 league goals last season for Woodley United as the Kestrels won promotion to the Hellenic Premier Division and lifted the Berks & Bucks County Intermediate Trophy.
United have already brought in a replacement for the departed Oakley with former Bracknell Town and Binfield striker Ian Davies joining Michael Herbert’s side in a busy week of signatures at Scours Lane which also included James Suarez and Jake White.
Oakley should be available for the ties with Holyport on Saturday and Wallingford Town on Monday at Bottom Meadow.
