It won’t have escaped regular readers of FootballinBracknell that there has been a bit of an exodus of players from Hellenic Premier League side Ascot United since the 2016/17 registration bun fight began in earnest at the start of July.
Until now, the only reference to players from the club had been this tweet:
We would like to say Best wishes and A thank you, to the players who have moved this pre season . #yellamen
— Ascot United FC (@AscotUnitedFC) July 10, 2016
United have seen captain Dave Hancock, Lee Boon, Joe Grant and Chris Grace all join division rivals Bracknell Town while Alex Rodrigues has headed to Thatcham Town and both Ross Seldon and Matt Jones have joined Binfield.
All change
However that all changed this morning, or yesterday depending on whether you’ve been keeping up with the FA full-time website – confession time we forgot to look yesterday, but United have had a slew of registrations through in addition to former Holyport attacker Jamie West who was the sole registered player this time last week.
The full list reads as Brandon Baker-Timms, Paul Coyne, Steven Deverall, Louie Gilpin, James Goodey, Thomas Hedges, Damien Markman (pictured), Rory McEwan, Jake Parsons, Samir Regragui, Stuart Swift, Jamie West and Jesse Wilson.
From that list only Baker-Timms and McEwan weren’t registered with the Yellamen last season and joint managers Jeff Lamb and Paul McGrotty will be delighted to have kept hold of the experienced West, Deverall who made 89 appearances between them last term.
