Bracknell Town have confirmed that last seasons in-form goalscorers Adam Cornell and Ben Poynter will both return to Larges Lane for the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League season.
Cornell and Poynter will vye for the first team striking roles with new signings Ian Davies from Thatcham and Joe Grant – top scorer last season for Ascot United with 22.
Cornell himself hit 21 goals in 26 games and was a big part of why Bracknell escaped the relegation zone while Poynter announced himself to the paying crowds with six goals in appearances toward the end of the season.
A strike force to fear
In Cornell, Davies, Grant and Poynter, Bracknell surely have a forward line to secure at least a top four finish. The quality of player the club are bringing in though suggests Tallentire is aiming much higher.
It remains to be seen if a Berkshire side can actually win the Hellenic League for the first time but the focus for the Bracknell manager will surely be on shoring up a back line that conceded 75 goals in the league last season.
Also retained
Bracknell have already confirmed the return of the creative Seb Bowerman, and can add Kensley Maloney, Dan Money, Damien Smith and Karl Steinborn-Busse to the list.
