In a weekend full of FA Vase ‘magic’, the Berks & Bucks County Cup could easily get lost in the scrum – particularly the County Intermediate Cup which is played for by teams at Hellenic League Division 1 level.
Why are we bringing this up? Well the draw a fortnight ago pulled out some absolutely cracking looking ties and with everyone except Woodley away in the Vase, it might well be an opportunity to take a look at your own clubs second string in a competitive local tie.

So here’s the programme for the First Round:
The outstanding tie on the list is surely Binfield Reserves at home to Wokingham & Emmbrook first team. Ellis Woods side have had a slow start in the Suburban League but knowing Ellis, his young Moles will be relishing the chance to go up against Clive McNelly’s men.
The other tie of real interest will be Thames Valley Premier League side Berks County FC – who we covered last weekend at home to Woodcote Stoke Row – they host Bracknell Town under 21 at Bracknell Sport Centre. The Robins have a 100% record this season in the league.
Also worth a look will be Finchampstead playing their first home game of the season when they welcome Ascot United Dev to the Memorial Ground.
