Our weekly look at what’s being said in the local media with samples this week from the Bracknell News, Maidenhead Advertiser and GloucestershireLive.
Mark Tallentire praised the way his Bracknell Town side reacted to going a goal down at home to Ardley United on Saturday but said of the Robins first half performance in this weeks Bracknell News: “We were not at our best in the first half. In fact, we haven’t been that disappointing since we moved back home. We didn’t have our usual flow to the game.”
Bracknell have just six games remaining – and were they to win all of them they would be crowned champions at the end of the season.
Burnham boss Mark Betts believes it will be ‘stupid mistakes’ that will cost his side their Hellenic Premier Division status this season.
Betts said to the Maidenhead Advertiser following a 4-2 defeat to Brimscombe & Thrupp that: “Until we cancel out these stupid mistakes we are not going to pick up any points. We have to turn it around.
“As the weeks are going by it’s frustrating, the difference between the teams are mistakes.
“We get into a competitive match and certain people are just crumbling. Certain people keep making the same mistakes.”
Brimscombe & Thrupp boss Sam Prior believes the pressure will be on leaders Bracknell when they visit Larges Lane on Saturday.
The Lilywhites chief said to GloucestershireLive: “It’ll all be on them. We went to (second placed) Thame a few weeks back and more than matched them on the day, getting a point out of the game, so I’m hoping we can put a similar performance in.
“Our work off the ball that day was outstanding and it’ll have to be again to match a side who score a lot of goals and don’t concede many either.”
