Bracknell Town Football Club have moved to explain the recent delay in the reopening of their new facility at Larges Lane which includes a superb looking artificial surface and some space age dugouts.
The clubs ground was expected to reopen with the visit of Thatcham Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League on Saturday 19th November, but this has been pushed back to the home derby with Binfield on Tuesday 6th December.
A statement on the club website reads: ‘In accordance FA guidelines the ground must also pass a grading inspection and this covers all aspects of the facilities at Larges Lane including the changing facilities, stand, fencing etc. Whilst we are working around the clock to complete all aspects of Phase 1 the FA grading inspection cannot take place until the end of November. This will result in us having to play on our home matches at Sandhurst Town until our return to ‘The Lane’ on 6th December in a mouthwatering tie against our neighbours Binfield FC’.
The statement added that football will return to Larges Lane as expected this week with the under 21s, ladies, Allied Counties and youth sides all able to get a taste of the new facility – and the club do not expect any issues in receiving the necessary approvals.
