A second half double from centre back Jeff Brown went some way to erasing a tough Saturday afternoon as Binfield beat neighbours Ascot United 3-1 at Hill Farm Lane.
Brown was the unfortunate Mole behind the OG in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Woodley United but more than made up for it with a valuable three points for Roger Herridge’s side.
It will have been a tough defeat for Ascot to take after leading 1-0 in the first half through Rob Lazarczuk’s penalty but Brad Pagliaroli quickly restored parity for Binfield on 42 minutes.
In a fairly open second half, it was Brown who grabbed the initiative on the hour and when Ascot’s Louis Bouwers was sent off for a second bookable offence Binfield took full advantage and Brown got his second on 75 minutes.
