Woodley United put on an impressive display against Southern League Marlow on Saturday, narrowly being beaten 3-2 and coming from two goals down.
The step four side scored twice in the first half but Josh Drew and Toby Briggs levelled things up in the second. It looked like a good result for Woodley in their second pre season fixture but a penalty seven minutes from time – initially saved by former Bracknell Town and Binfield goalkeeper Garry Aulsberry – was converted on the rebound.
Up the M4 it was AFC Aldermaston who took on Taplow United and the Atomics came away with a healthy 5-0 victory.
Kai Parton-Edey and Karl Hanks both scored in the first half – for Hanks it was the first of three for the afternoon, while Lewis Sopp also scored in the second half.

There was disappointment though in the other match featuring local teams as Binfield’s trip to Wantage Town was postponed with the Moles unable to raise a side for the tie.
