A Charlie Oakley hat-trick and brace from Josh Drew sent Woodley United on their way to a 5-0 win at Hellenic League Division 1 East bottom side Wantage Town Reserves on Tuesday night at Scours Lane.
The Kestrels promotion dream is definitely on – at least on the pitch thanks to the victory that puts them two points above their nearest rivals Finchampstead in third (and who they have five games in hand on) while fourth place Headington Amateur’s who have played the same number of games as Michael Herbert’s side are six points adrift.
It was we understand a ‘perfect hat-trick’ from the Woodley striker who gets a second entry on the ‘most goals in a game board’ and scored all three inside four minutes to boot as United took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the opening half an hour of the game.

Drew scored his first on 53 minutes and then converted a penalty he earned himself on 75 minutes.
Jon Malone was on hand for Finchampstead as his strike earned a point at Didcot Town Reserves while Sandhurst Town were held to a 0-0 draw at Rayners Lane.
