Hellenic Premier Division new boys Windsor are expecting their gates to increase by 40% following the summer switch from the Combined Counties League according to manager Mick Woodham.

The Royalists are likely to benefit from an increase in local derbies with East Berkshire rivals Bracknell Town, Binfield and Ascot United as well as Woodley United and Highmoor-IBIS.

Woodham – a former joint manager at Bracknell Town in 2012 – made the comment in an interview on the season ahead with the Maidenhead Advertiser.

He said: “We’re looking forward to it, everyone is.

“We’re expecting it will push up our gates by 40 per cent, with more fans likely to travel to our matches.

“We have a very good idea of what to expect next season and know what the teams in this division are all about.”

Windsor’s Stag Meadow will certainly be high up many Hellenic Premier teams supporters lists to visit in the coming season with both Binfield and Bracknell having a sneak peak during the 2017 County Cup Final.

We’d love to be able to tell you what that 40% increase equates too in the real world but unfortunately the Combined Counties League didn’t record attendances for the 2016/17 season.
