Binfield make the trip down the M4 to Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday afternoon looking to maintain their 100% Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League record.

The Moles have won all three league fixtures so far in the 2016/17 season and will be looking to make the most of some apparent upheaval at Bassett.

Who’s in charge at Bassett?

It seems a terrific facility hasn’t been enough to keep hold of manager Paul Braithwaite who has stepped down after four games of the season.

It would seem Bassett’s start to the season hasn’t been quite what the former Fairford Town boss had hoped for after two seasons in charge – they’ve managed one win in the league against Henley Town and were beaten 5-2 in the FA Cup by Andover Town.

Braithwaite’s assistant and first team coach have left with him and it is unclear who will lead the side on Saturday.

Same again for Binfield

Despite a lacklustre FA Cup performance, Binfield are the Hellenic Premier’s pace setters with Thame United and Highmoor-IBIS – all three have 100% league records and the Moles have been nothing less than impressive in their league endeavours this season.

That said Roger Herridge has said he still expects to be short as with last weekend but has Jamie Connor and Nick Bateman back, although he has told us that striker Richard Bennett has been released to join Henley Town and we reported earlier in the week that Danny Horscroft has joined Woodley United.

Povey pulling the strings?

Easily the most popular and most shared story on FootballinBracknell this week was the news that Herridge has brought in the impressive midfielder Asa Povey from Henley.

Povey made his debut in the 4-0 trouncing of Burnham on Monday night and the goal scoring midfielder will be eager to get off the mark for his new club down in Wiltshire.

Elsewhere?

With it being FA Cup Preliminary Round day, there are only four games in the Hellenic Premier at the weekend.

Lydney Town vs Burnham

Thatcham Town vs Henley Town

Both Bracknell Town and Ascot United are in FA Cup action and you can read about their Saturday afternoon plans here.
