When Woodley United’s first team lifted the Berks & Bucks County Intermediate Trophy it was the clubs highest honour since the amalgamation of the towns three clubs – United, Hammers and Town.
The club also earned promotion to the Hellenic Premier Division, meaning the Kestrels will play at their highest ever level next season – but it is the silverware of the County Trophy that has been drawing the attention on a tour of the clubs sponsors around the town.
It has – 20 minutes prior to the publication of this article – turned up at the Brown Bag Cafe in Woodley Town centre as well as main sponsor KJ Smith Solicitors and numerous other sites around the town.
