The long awaited roof is now on the stand at Larges Lane as Bracknell Town prepare for the FA ground grading that will – along with winning the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division – decide if they are able to take promotion back to step four after seven years away.
The roof went up this week and covers the 150 seats that have been installed on the car park side of the ground and looks frankly awesome.
The ground grade we understand the club are seeking is a D which requires 150 seats and will allow the club to take promotion to the Evo-Stik Southern League should they finish top of the table. The Robins are currently one point clear of title rivals Thame United in what is a two horse race.
On our tour of the ground back at the start of November 2016 the new seated area looked a little like this:

And has come an awful long way since the refurbished grounds opening night against Binfield when it was covered with a giant green tarpaulin.

The big question though..
When is the next opportunity to use the new stand?
The first chance to sit under the roof at Larges Lane was in fact on Tuesday night when Bracknell Town’s youth team lost 5-3 to Guildford City. The next opportunity is Saturday 4th March when the Robins first team host Ardley United in the Hellenic Premier Division.
