What’s happening?
Binfield have, as we’ve reported previously made successful applications to the Football Foundation, Bracknell Forest Borough Council and Binfield Parish Council for funding towards the further development of Hill Farm Lane.
The funding will allow a two phase project to build brand new changing facilities, improved playing facilities and a refurbished clubhouse.
Phase 1 of the project according to Binfield’s website will include the following:
- New build changing rooms and showers for male and female players and officials, medical room and storage
- Refurbishment of existing clubhouse with new build male, female and disabled toilets, extended bar, new meeting rooms, new PA and AV systems for clubhouse and all external areas of the full site
- Replacement and addition of pitch and walkway safety barriers to service the new building, refurbished clubhouse and disabled access to pitches
The biggest hurdle
Arguably the biggest hurdle – finances aside – has already been cleared with the extension of the clubs lease at Hill Farm Lane increased by 30 years.
The Moles were eight years in to their current 25 year lease – with a minimum of 20 years security required for funding assistance.
Project co-ordinator Glenn Duggleby announced the extension on 6th December – allowing the club to secure the necessary grants and funding.
