Bracknell Town rocked their previously unbeaten Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League counterparts Thame United on Tuesday with a first half performance that was straight out of the top drawer.
The Robins were led forward by young Kensley Maloney, but it was his wing counterpart Seb Bowerman that fired Bracknell into a 1-0 from the penalty spot after Maloney was brought down.
Bowerman had already hit the post in the first half with what looked like an impossible header and Bracknell should have led but for the reflexes of Thame goalkeeper Henry Craven who denied Adam Cornell at point blank range.
It was an evening full of drama but only the most rose-tinted of Thame supporters would deny Bracknell deserved anything other than victory – and the same again at home to Thatcham on Saturday will give the Robins a real shot at the title.
